The Early Years box set is getting pressed as we speak. It will include “Hymns for the Hopeless”, “Ashes to Dust”, and “Song of the Blackbird” each on 180 gram vinyl, re-recorded and re-mastered as faithfully as possible for your listening pleasure. The set will include down load codes for all 3 albums and a signed post card. It’s taken a while to get this together, but will be available on this website asap. Limited to 500 copies.
Bloodshot Records out of Chicago has just released a triple LP/double cd in honor of their 20th anniversary. It’s a bunch of great artists covering old tunes from the Bloodshot catalogue. They’ve been kind enough to let me on there as well. I do a cover of Neko Case’s “I wish I was the Moon”. Also included are songs by Murder By Death, Frank Turner, and Chuck Reagan among many others. Records and cd’s can be gotten at Bloodshot’s website.
The show in Des Moines on November 22 has been moved from House of Bricks to Wooly’s down the street. Little Big Fest is slated to be a great event , with tons of other awesome bands. I’m proud to be a part of it!
The air is getting crisp here in the midwest. I’ve been harvesting sweet potatoes and brussel sprouts, picking apples, and working on my new record. It will be done soon, for release in the spring of 2015.
Thanks to everyone who came out to the show in Ames, it was fun as hell.
